Shri Chandi Mata Temple of Bagbahara is famous for the presence of amicable bears


Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today offered prayers at Shri Chandi Mata Temple, which presents a unique example of human-animal bond of love and companionship, and wished for the happiness and prosperity of the people of the state.



As soon as he visited the Shri Chandi Mata temple, The Chief Minister witnessed bears roaming in the premises of the temple. Locals informed that the group of bears visit the temple premises everyday at the time of evening prayers. This temple has become a unique example of the human-animal bond of love and companionship. The Chief Minister inquired about the number of bears visiting the temple and their behaviour. They informed that these bears are very amicable and show no signs of violence. People believe that these bears are the devotees of Shri Chandi Mata and they come to visit Mata everyday. The temple managers informed the Chief Minister that these bears get along very well with the visitors, and the ritual of these bears visiting the temple premises has been going on since numerous years.  At present, mesh and barricading have been installed for security. Along with this, a ban has been imposed on feeding food items to the bears. The temple officials informed the Chief Minister that people have  named these bears as Prince,love and choti.
